- On May 17, 1993 I walked into the doors of the Hawthrone Farm Intel complex for
my first day. In the beginning my job was to provide press relations support for the Intel Architecture Labs.
I supported Intel's Indeo Video standard and was embroiled in the "Native Signal Processing" battle with Microsoft.
- Then, a miracle happened. Mark Ivey, formerly a reporter
with BusinessWeek, and I teamed up to create the PC Dads as a fun after hours hobby. One thing led to another and this
became our full-time job.
- After four amazing PC Dads
years I morphed briefly into a museum technology specialist (with the American Century exhibit at the Whitney Museum of Art
in 2000 being one of the high points of my life). With the retirement of Dennis Carter, the VP of marketing who
created the "Intel Inside" program, the team reporting to him was disbanded and I was brought back into the PR
family.
- For many years I leveraged the lessons from
the PC Dads era to serve as Intel's Consumer Education Manager touring the USA and Canada.
- The last year and a half of my time at Intel I served in the North American PR Team working special projects such
as the Sundance Film Festival, the launch of Intel's Viiv technology, and near the end the launch of the Intel Core 2 Duo
line of processors.
- On October 20, 2006 I was laid off along with thousands of other great Intel team members. Return to the
previous page and use the links for a recap of each phase of my Intel career.
